Hello community,
I am wondering if this canon 50mm 1:1.8 stm will work with the sigma mc11?. Also which canon lenses really work with the sigma adapter?. Thank you for the help.
Just curious; wouldn't it be just as easy for you to go to the Sigma website and look it up as it would be for other UHH members. I'm sure there are plenty of then who will.
I never heard of Canon FE lenses; a typo maybe?
The Sigma Mount Converter 11 allows the user to mount Canon EF lenses to Sony ( E mount I believe). To answer your questions, Yes, and Canon EF lenses.
I have that lens and I have that adapter and I have both Sony's A6300 and A7iii and the lens works as good as it does on my Canon 7Dii. Super quick auto focus.
The reason for my question is that I borrowed this lense with the mc11 adapter. I didn't see the green light on the adapter?. .which means according to sigma the lens is not compatible. The lens works in manual mode, but not in auto. Oh the camera is the sony a6000.
I checked the sigma website, but I didn't see the canon lenses. I probably missed this is why I am asking this question. Thank you for your help.

I recommend you talk to a Sigma rep about adapting Canon lenses to the Sony E mount. They are very helpful. I suspect your 50mm Canon lens can be successfully adapted and will work fine. In the case of adapting long telephoto lenses, continuous AF will never perform as well as it does with a native FE lens.

Works great with my 50 1.8, 100mm macro, 70-200 II, IS 2.8, and 400 5.6 on both a6000 and a6500 fast and accurate.
Yeh it would be!, but your soon knowledgeable and eager to help your fellow Hedghogger.
The adapter works very well on the newer Sony’s from the 6300. I get excellent performance with many ef mount lenses on my 6500 and A7Rii, but it was much slower and less consistent on my old A6000- one of the reasons I replaced it. The focus system on the newer cameras is quite different.

Your comments would have more impact if you would start clicking on the "Quote Reply" button so the person you are replying to would be quoted and we could tell who you are replying to. As it stands, your
comment in this thread doesn't make much sense. I'm sure you didn't plan it that way so help yourself
and others here and make the effort to understand the process a little bit. It is difficult to determine who your comment is for and if you're being critical or complementary.

I've never had an EF mount lenses not work with the MC-11 adapter. This includes Canon, Tamron and Sigma lenses.

I really appreciate all the help from the members. I always tried to get the right answer via internet. It takes beautiful pictures in manual mode, but the auto does not work. I am hoping to find the list of canon lenses that work with the mc11 using the auto mode. I just can not find anything in the web. I already know the sigma list.
