I am looking at upgrading my Camera I have a small digital and a Canon AE-1 programable. I am currently looking at the Fugifilm HS20EXR 16MP and the Canon EOS Rebel T2i 18 MP. I can get fairly good deal on either at the base exchange. Which would be best for taking pictures of family, friends, and outdoor shots like landscapes, flowers and wildlife.

Do some research on that Fuji before you buy it, the feedback on it is not very favorable.

In fact I just recently did a lot of research, thinking of buying a second camera. It seems that the camera industry is presently in a period of extermination, and most of the recent crop have lots of minor irritancies.

I would buy the Canon.

I have a Fuji HS20 and am very happy with it.
The fact that it goes from MACRO to 30X optical zoom was a big selling point.
I don't have a Canon EOS Rebel T2i so cannot comment on it.

I would get the Canon T2i because it is more versatile and it will have interchangeable lenses. The other camera, if it is not a DSLR, will not do the things that the Canon will like give you the options of upgrading your lenses.

I also have an AE1. I purchased a T3i a couple of months ago. I really like the camera. It came with a 18-135 lens. Not much difference between the T2i and the T3i.

Go for the T2i I think you will like it.
