It's a penny

Just got my new cheap meke extension tubes and took this. It was with my A6300 kit 16-50 lens. Room light on my work table hand held as steady as I could. Edited it a little with Paint Shop Pro. Did a dime and nickel but the penny had the best color of the three. I was looking into flat lay photography but I don't have the arm to hold the camera over the table. I'm not sure how much better it would be with a tripod but I could have kept the ISO at 100 if I used a tripod.

I've always been a proponent of those cheap tubes. Nice shot.

Nice picture, you captured the colors well.
By the way, it is not a penny. We don't have pennies in USA currency. It's a one cent coin. They have pennies in the UK. Yes I know many Americans call the 1 cent coin a penny but that's just old terminology left over from when America still used British coins.

Please, Jerry and roadsideron... not "cheap"... rather "low cost"... and yes this penny is proof that they work well. Lots of detail in both the penny and the paper. Good purchase and good photo roadsideron.

I'm going to go out on a limb here but I think not just "many Americans" but pretty much ALL Americans call it a penny. I don't know of anybody who would go to a bank and asks for a roll of "one cent coins".

Just because the majority are wrong, doesn't make it right! The title is, It's a penny. It is not. It is a cent. The penny is a coin in the UK. If you don't believe me, look it up. No, you wouldn't go to the bank and ask for a roll of cents. Most coin wrappers are labeled incorrectly with the word pennies but the coins inside them are cents. It doesn't have the word penny on the coin, it has the word, cent.

I guess that what I had as a kid was one cent loafers, rather than penny loafers. 😏
