Did anyone have such experiences?
Anyone who has ever been to a place that could even be remotely called a tourist destination has seen this.
At the end of the day the best camera is the one that you have with you.

Everyone should have the same right. No sympathy for the guy.
Yes, it was posted Monday. I saw it too.
I agree that all are equal regardless of camera, but I am surprised at how so many people are clueless to others. I'll wait for a "clean" shot, camera to eye, but before I can release the shutter, somebody will simply walk in front of me to take their own photo. Seems I'm always wearing an invisibility cloak. Myself, I can honestly say I do look around for others taking photos and stand clear.
That someone turns up with more advanced camera gear and assumes to have special privileges, and therefore expects everyone else to yield? Yeah, I've seen it happen once or twice. Should have arrived earlier.

In the cartoon the guy proclaimed that he is a photographer that implied the others are not and should get out of his way.

That is true .... he should be
in the scrum if the path to his photo goes through them.
Been there, done that - have had phoneiacs step deliberately in front of me even though I pre plan then shoot fast. The other one I love is the "famous photog with phone" who stays in the way framing shooting re framing shooting etc. till the group moves on. That's less annoying, since as mentioned, I have a shot planned and execute quickly. Interestingly enough, and I know there are numerous courteous phoneographers, I've never had either problem with a camera user, though I do consciously avoid camera mob scenes.

I photographed some of the old standards on the north shore of Superior last week. After climbing down to the beach, balancing precariously on slippery rocks, and being bit by black flies I was able to eliminate approximately 8 people getting selfies who were in the frame by using a beautiful flowering bush. Great shot of Split Rock Lighthouse- Or so I thought. There was a small bare spot in the bush that I failed to see. Clone stamp to the rescue.

I have to admit that when one guy stepped front of me and stopped as I was composing a shot through the viewfinder of my large blue DSLR, I later ‘accidentally’ walked in front of him as he waved his phone zombie-style.
I was lucky enough to visit a bull jumping ceremony in ethiopia last year.A once in a lifetime event almost ruined by about 5 photographers who had all pro canon gear but who probably wernt professionals.
They were everywhere...as close and as obtrusive as its possible to get with no regard for anybody else.At one point it was difficult to get any sort of shot without one of them being in it.
If it had been anywhere other than the african bush I think all hell might have broken lose!

You must live a very sheltered life. So camera users are good. Cellphone users are bad.
