#1 IED strike on my vehicle, #2 we learned to put bottles of water in all the compartments not just for extra drinking but also to slow down any shrapnel, #3 My TC seat where I was sitting. Thank god for transparent armor which stopped a chunk of shrapnel before it penetrated all the way through the last plane of glass. I have that piece as a reminder of just how close I was to leaving this world. #4 one of my Soldiers surveying the spot where the 2 155mm rounds were buried.

It looks like that was a good choice of vehicle for your trip. Maybe not a good choice of road, though. : )
