My First Attempts at Lightning Strikes

In Colorado recently during a lightning show in the distance. I made several attempts to capture lightning strikes by steadying my camera against a porch column. I seemed to be a lot slower on the shutter release than I thought, but did manage to capture these two strikes. C&C welcome.

Great capture for first time. Lightning is a hard subject to photograph timing is everything. Good job well done
