I discovered this forum about a 4 hours ago and hope to find it very helpful while discovering the world of photography. I am new to this and currently looking into getting the Cannon T7i as being very good for the beginner, up until now its all been iPhone picture taking.
I love to go to different places for a visit and add more to the memory page. Mountains seem to be my choice of locations lately and the wildlife & waterfalls make up a lot of my pictures along the Blue Ridge Parkway. I look forward to learning more from the forum as I dig deeper into the world of photography.
The following photo was taken with my iPhone Xs Max while coming back up the trail from visiting a waterfall at Deep Gap on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Welcome to the forum. Great post with image. Post mages and ask questions. A great way to learn.
Thanks for the welcoming and I am sure I will have plenty of questions...LOL
I don't want to sound like a snob, but congrats for moving up from the phone to "real" photography. There's lots to learn (and this is the place to learn it) but most importantly, have fun.
And, welcome. I'm looking forward to seeing pix from one of the few states I've never visited.
Welcome to the forum neighbor.....Waxhaw is home for me.
Welcome! Lots of experience on all types of photo equipment here, including cellphones. Your deer photo is a perfect example of a good use of a cellphone. You'll enjoy stretching your skills on your new DSLR.

Good photo. Welcome from a Hog in Mount Pleasant, SC. To me, it's the lenses that make the difference. My current main camera is a Canon T6i.
