I am considering moving from Luminar 3 to a Creative Cloud subscription. I see that I would get Lightroom, Lightroom Classic and Photoshop. I believe that with a lot of training I would be better off than with Luminar. My question is with license. If I subscribe would I be able to use the software on two different computers, a PC and a MacBook Pro or would the license limit my download to just one device? My reason for change is because when I was editing a 24 meg file off my d750 I had no problem, sense my purchase of a d850 the large file size is choking Luminar to a slug pace. Thanks

With the subscription you can install the programs on two computers but I think you can only use one at a time.

I think the answer is ‘yes’. But don’t hold me to that. Not positive.

Yes, you have have the programs active on two computers at the same time, doesn't matter whether mac or pc. If you want to use it on a third computer, you would have to de-activate (at least temporarily) one of the other computers.

I have Lightroom Classic on two computers, Photoshop on the same two, and LightroomCC on one computer, a tablet, and a phone.

Luminar is a good program but it's young, it'll take time for it to get as powerful as the Adobe suite. Right now, I prefer using Luminar as a plugin (Flex) to the Adobe suite. But some folks seem quite happy with it as a substitute for Photoshop.

Not true. You can install the programs on as many computers as you like but can only run two at a time.

Before you get the subscription (if you haven't already), you can get a trial to see if Lightroom works for you, or is actually faster than Luminar on your computer. It is possible that the computer is the problem.

You can install it on as many computers as you want, but officially only use it on two at a time. However, I have opened it on a tablet, laptop and desktop simultaneously without issue.

Something no one talks about....

Luminar chocked. Ok, fine.

How much memory does your computer have? Changing software might not be the solution... Just saying.

it Is a new laptop with a 1 TB hard drive and 128 mb of ram. I had no problems editing the smaller files from the d750 it is only the larger files from the d850 that cause the problem. Maybe I do need more ram?

Yes, two computers and you can use both at the same time if you so desire (I guess this is for a household with more than one person who uses the software). You can also use it on a different computer by simply taking one of the currently linked licenses off, so to speak, and then you can use it on a third machine. In other words, you can swap it around as needed. For learning LR, you would benefit from reading the online help manual FIRST so that you become familiar with the way the Library Module works. This will save you a lot of frustration.

128mb? Are you sure about that?

Hopefully the OP means 128 GB, and if so and the OS is 64 bit, then the issue is not too little DRAM. I suggest opening performance monitor (ctrl alt Del) and look at the memory, disk and CPU usage. Also, even though it’s unlikely that the machine will page to disk with this much DRAM, it’s worth checking the virtual memory/swap disk space you have allocated.
