I would be guilty if I could afford more gear..
The largest improvement I have made in photography was not new or different gear, but study and learning to use what I had. At eighty three I am still improving and even folks that have followed me have noticed and said I am still improving, unsolicited comments I may add.
Actually the guy on the right needs to have one customer asking about a 10+ year old camera purchased at a yard sale.
Said customer is of course going Pro and needs to know about the camera by the next day when he has 2 weddings and a birthday party booked. Customer has also never taken any pictures except for selfies with a cell phone.
About as true as it gets.
Accumulation is more important than learning. You can't learn how to use gear if you don't have it. Even if you don't know how to use it, you can still impress others with your expensive gear.
Very true, but GAS is the culprit.
