If you are on land, or the sea, the sky will occupy something like half of your visual field. Yet, aside from sun and moonsets or rises, milkyway shots and the occasional astro effort, the sky tends to be treated as troublesome problem with composition and exposure, or it's simply ignored by a large proportion of the camera-wielding public. I think the sky itself, particularly when occupied by water vapor and weather offers a widely underappreciated opportunity to photographically explore the choreography of light, form and color. Here's a humble example, I call it Summer Evening --at 18,000 feet

No. You don't need an aircraft. This was shot with a long lens from a hilltop on the edge of town...

I love looking at clouds and they can motivate me to go shoot. Good job with these. I feel like I am up above them.

So very nice to see clouds. Not much of them around here and won't be for a long while.

I love the sky. Your picture inspires me to keep trying. But I get frustrated when I take photos of the sky, or places like a forest where a lot of the beauty doesn’t translate to photography because so much of what awes me is the size, plus there is a feeling of no focal point- just a vast expanse that is encompassing.
