Ok, I'm really new to the macro thing, and I've got a long ways to go...but I love the surprises my lens sees and I don't. (I didn't know grasshoppers were made that small!)

Yes, there are a lot of creatures around that we never normally see but the macro lens brings many of them to our attention. I have learned so much since shooting macro.

That is a good picture! Especially tricky to get details in background at this magnification. This looks to be a carpenter ant.
