Hello everyone! I've been watching the forum for 2 days and have already learned sooooo much and look forward to having you as a team/support group. I'm new to using a Canon Rebel T3 DSLR with EF-S 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 IS II and EF 75-300mm 1:4-5.6 III telephoto lens, which I purchased 2 weeks ago and I'm signing up for a class at our local community college (starts next month). I tried to take a picture of the full moon this week and got a big white blob! I googled for help in taking a moon picture and found this website. What a lucky break for me. I read on line and tried another shot using settings of AV at 5.6, shutter at 1/800 and ISO at 100 and got a really pretty picture. I had no idea of what I was doing but the recommended settings made for a great shot which I cropped and enlarged and it turned out great (for me anyway). Can't wait to really learn what I'm doing. So glad to be part of this forum.
Hello SFord122
Welcome. I am a new one too. Don't have all the fancy cameras that I read about here but I am happy with my little Ole FUJIFILM FinePix S3000 it gets the job done and I am learning quite a bit in here. Hope to see some of your posts. Take care.
Buddy
Thanks so much Buddy. (My name is Susan by the way; forgot to add it to my post.) I know what you mean. I've been happy using Sony Cybershot cameras for many many years and have used an Olympus SP 800UZ for the past 2 years and really liked it. I took a leap of faith in getting my new DSLR and am having more fun already than I had imagined I could have. I don't know all the "rules" for taking that "perfect" shot, but I certainly enjoy taking pictures! When I get brave enough... I'll post one. lol
Thanks for responding to my post. I'd like to see some of your work of art too!
Hi Buddy. You are now the first person on my "Buddy List". Must be Karma! I think this forum is going to be a lot of fun.
