The yachts have sailed, the sun-worshipers have gone, the sun smiles weakly on the lone brave soul trying to eek out the last rays of Summer.
I like this pic for its simplicity and minimalism. I think the geometry between the boat, the harbor and the girl carries the eye around the frame and back to the isolated girl. The muted pallet captures the hazy autumn morning sun and the foot trodden sand reminds us of the departed hoards.

Nice composition and good use of minimalism.
I enjoy seeing photos like this one.
Has a nice kind of "Andrew Wyeth" mood about it!

Thanks Rineal.
I had to look up Andrew Wyeth. Thanks for the introduction to his work. I do see some of the mood I was trying to capture in several of his paintings. I appreciate the compliment.
An interesting alternative to the high noon effect. And it has just the right mixture of minimalism and details. We can focus easily on the few subjects and at the same time there's enough info to tell us what we need to know about the time and place.
Good eye! It takes the download to really appreciate what you accomplished in this shot.
Your idea is beautifully done.
I also thought of Andrew Wyeth's "Christians World". There is a lot to like about your picture.

Thanks Fergmark. An interesting comparison. I think it does ask some of the same questions as 'Christina's World'. Who is the woman? Why is she there? What is she thinking?

Thanks R.G. I have posted loads of pics with much more immediate impact in the gallery over the last year or two, but I have hesitated in posting this one even though it one of my favorites. I don't really understand why I find it so appealing, but I do. I posted it here on FYC to help me understand. Thanks for your insights.
Very nice composition and minimalist approach - well done!

Exactly. Its unusual for a small figure like this to embody the disposition of a composition.
