Bird Photography 101

While sitting in my chair, watching T.V., i heard what I thought was a small bird hit our glass door. When I turned around, this is what I saw; an immature Yellow Crowned Night Heron. It stayed around for quite a while, It even spent some time on the patio table. I had previously photographed this same bird and a sibling about a month ago. Until Last year I had never seen this species anywhere. I hope that it will hang around til it migrates.

I wouldn't call it a strike; it was like he just walked into the glass on his way into the living room and bumped his beak. Fun to watch. I shot these with Zoom set at 100mm.
