After visiting the parks, we spent the night in Moscow, Idaho and the next morning started out on the backroads on the way to Steptoe Butte State Park. These are roadside shots of the fields we encountered and better illustrate the range of colors and textures in the Palouse. The clouds were always present while we were there.

I will post shots from the Butte later (I have a capacity issue and I am awaiting another external hard drive).

Mike, That first image captures the texture and colors in Palouse. It is outstanding.
Palouse is my MUST trip next June.

Thanks, Keni, it is almost impossible to get a bad shot in the Palouse.

I appreciate those kind words, Stan. If you decide to go, get issue #54 of Photograph America Newsletter. It focuses on the Palouse and where to go.

Thanks, Erik, but there is not enough water or birds to keep you busy.
