Anyone have experience with or recommendations for a cart to use on location shoots? Needs to hold a large camera bag, lighting case, collapsible background and reflectors, and various lightstands. One that's collapsible would be ideal.

Thanks for that suggestion, I haven't seen that type of cart before.

You will have to decide whether the beach will be included in your shoots. A standard wagon with thinner wheels will feel as if it's being dragged on loose sand. I use a collapsible wagon from Costco that meets my on location portrait work that I purchased in the spring for $50.00.

Minnesota does have it's lakeside beaches. And this cart style seems to be one of the most popular. I am leaning toward this design if I can find one with the largest capacity.
This cart isn't fully packed but this should give you give you an idea with capacity. I'm able to fit a tripod length wise on the bottom and I strap a C-stand on top as well. It's surprsingly holds a lot of gear and typically portrait shoots can have a lot of gear depending on your preparation and requirements.
Thanks very much for the photo. The only items I'd need to add are lightstands.
I've used foam pipe insulators on the top rails and strap them down.
I use a few different carriers depending on what I am bringing and/or where the shoot is located.
I have a Porter case I use if I need to bring a few extra bags or cases and access is relatively smooth. It is a solo camera rolling case that doubles as a hand truck of sorts.
http://portercase.com/main/product_info.php?products_id=72When transporting lights and bags, stands, etc., I use a 2 shelf restaurant style cart that has a built-in power strip and extension cord. This doubles as a mobile table for holding my tethered laptop, extra lenses and other small items during a shoot. Keeping everything centralized on the cart shelves keeps me from losing or misplacing items as I move around.
I borrow my sister's collapsible canvas wagon if I need to bring extra equipment to exterior shoots with uneven terrain, the fat wheels work great for traversing grass or gravel.
All great ideas, jdubu. The restaurant cart is especially interesting. Thanks.

Home Depot has a number of the collapsible wagons, ranging in size from 3.5 to about 10 cubic feet. And Amazon has pages of 'em.
Thanks. Didn't think about Home Depot. Amazon is a great resource, I was most interested in first-hand accounts from other photographers to help my purchasing decision because a lot of them are expensive.
I am not a user, but I compete in shooting matches where one of my fellow competitors uses one to haul gear and a cooler between stages (different shooting locations around the range.) Some of us have been known to put our own range bags in and let him haul them for us. His has "regular" wheels, and it rolls easily over the gravel roads and bare ground we move across. He has been using the same wagon for years with no visible deterioration, although our matches are only once a month, and I don't know what other use the wagon gets. But guns, ammunition and water get HEAVY, so it gets a workout on match days.
