I am looking for information about possible places to photograph and visit in and around the state park. I hear there is a decent number of Bears and snakes in the area and hope to get some good photos of both. I will be taking most everything I have as far as gear goes, Canon 6D MarkII and T3 Bodies, Tameron 150-600mm G2 lens, canon 75-300 is lens, Canon 85mm 1.8, Canon 50mm 1.8, 18-55mm kit lens, And the Canon 24-105mm F4 L series lens. Tripod and Monopod both will be going with me however I mostly use my Tripod as a monopod when I need to.
Any advice on what to look for and best times to shoot will be greatly appreciated.
Thank You all for your responses
Thomas Edward.

This is a beautiful scenic area of Tennessee. Mountains and hills, dense forests and wild free flowing rivers and creeks. In addition to Pickett, nearby is the Big South Fork of the Cumberland River and also the Emory-Obed River System. Lots of rapids and small waterfalls abound

Thank you so much for the information. By the sounds of it I may need longer then 5 days there.

Not sure what time of year you are going but fall foliage colors in October will be stunning in this area as there are a lot of hardwoods

About 65 miles south of Pickett is Fall Creek Falls State Park. Several beautiful waterfalls. Cabins are available if you wish to stay overnight.

Don’t miss Twin Arches which is near by. Pickett is also an international Dark Zone so great for pictures of the Milky Way. There are also more arches to see from trails around the campground. Leatherwood Ford and Angel Falls overlook are good places to go although Angel Falls is not a waterfall. It was blown up years ago by locals wanting to get their boats through. Still a pretty spot though.
