I was in VS-32 Maintenance Control during the 1976 work-up cruises until August 1976 when I was detached from ship board duty preparing to retire on September 1, 1976. I am Chief Johnnie Robnett (ATC) and would appreciate hearing from and about you. My email is rob32@icloud.com. Very Respectfully, Rob
PS: I am in regular email contact with, then, AT2 Corneius Stripling, who as a reservist retired as an E8. Perhaps you remember him.
Very sad where is the ship located I was on the USS Kitty Hawk CVA 63 62-63-1964 Mike
Thanks All
I believe Kitty Hawk was previously berthed there as well.
Awe inspiring to see in person.
Those of us that were in the nuclear Navy have no hope of seeing our boats/ships after decommissioning
bring it to san diego , we could house the thousands homeless on it , better then sleep on the side walk . it cost 500 k here to build a studio for one homeless .that money would buy a lot of paint for that ship .
Served on the Big John CV-67 from December 1979-81 as photo aircrew and managed the AFRTS tv station. It is really demoralizing to see her like this. She was a showpiece during her active service. I live only about 8 miles downriver of her in Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
