Good old eyesore, the Bingham copper mine, acroothe valley from Salt Lake city to the west.
Hard to imagine the size, even knowing those trucks have tires that are close to 10 feet in diameter.
In the Oquirrh Mountains, west of Salt Lake. We can see it from the front porch.
That’s a big one!
I’ve been to the ones at Bisbee, both underground and strip.
The interesting thing about the mine is, that it’s depth today was its heights when they started.

I visited the Bingham mine 64 years ago and it was huge then. Amazing that it's still producing and obviously much bigger now.
