D7500 "0" Flashing

I am still learning my new DSLR and just figured out by experiment that "Auto ISO" flashing in the viewfinder means that the camera has boosted the ISO beyond 100. But what is making the "0" at the center of the exposure meter, but not the scale itself, flash in P,A, S mode? It does that on all 3 displays: viewfinder, top control panel, and main display.

Try your user manual where every aspect of the camera is explained, including ever icon on every screen. Consult pages 1 to 10 for links to the details within the manual that match to the display question you see on the camera.

Try page 128 for the flashing '0' on the meter.

Your owners manual is very informative. It's a good idea to read through it with camera in hand, especially with a new camera. There are also third party manuals for most cameras which go into greater detail than the manual that comes with the camera.

Thanks. I did search the UM, as well as the supplement and menu guides. UM page 128 has to do with EC, which was 0.0. I tried changing it then returning it to 0.0, but the 0 is still flashing.

Maybe this, B3 in the Custom Settings Menu

Easy exposure compensation
This option controls whether the +/- button is needed to set exposure compensation. If On (Auto reset) or On is selected, the 0 at the center of the exposure display will flash even when exposure compensation is set to ±0.

Steve Perry (a member here) has a good 'free' video on Nikon AF settings. He also sells an excellent book on the subject. It might be worth a look.

Where in this display do you see the "0"?

The zero shows when the exposure compensation is pressed or when custom B3 is on.

For all those continuing to reply.

The problem was solved by Bill De in the 4th post following the OP.
