Hi Everyone. I've been a Photographer since 1969. Also worked Sound for Documentary Films for 20 Years with my Cinematographer younger Brother. Now shooting a Canon R. And loving being able to see through a viewfinder again and have great help in focusing Manual.
This said I will launch right into it.
Why the he'll do I have to pay for all this video in my Professional Stills Camera.
I'm sure there is at least 500 Dollars I could have saved. Easy.
Welcome. I kinda feel the same way as I don't shoot video (thus far). Answer, marketing. Some people want Video some only Want Still, some both. For most companies it is easier to have a model that covers two worlds than designing separate cameras for different uses that are essentially the same. The actual parts don't really cost that much more to the manufacturer. Now, Fujifilm and Sony take slightly different approaches in that they have different models in the more or less same class that might stress professional still photography deluxe features in one and deluxe professional video features in the other and yet both do both to some extent. Might be why these to companies carry so many models. Nikon, Canon, and certainly Pentax have so many fewer models.
