Young Black Phoebe in my yard

OK, I pulled my head out of the book I am reading in my current reading obsession long enough to take a few bird pics. Through the not very clean double pane sliding door so I don't have to go out in the heat or lose the cool air my AC has worked so hard to fill the family room with.

Black Phoebe perching on various things around the pool and then skimming the water snatching up drowning bugs. These two decent shots happened to be on the same spot.

#1 80D, Tamron 150-600 G2 @ 600, 1/800 @ f/16, ISO 5000

Using a tripod at about 50' Yes the noise is pretty bad

But I felt I needed to post something it has been so long. Because of the bits of brown I think this is the juvenile I photoed over a month ago.

#2 all the same but 1/640 @ f/8.0, ISO 1600

noise isn't nearly as bad.

Yes
Their habit of perching on things that stick up like sprinkler heads and posts also makes it easy to get unobstructed shots of them.
