The first picture was shot on the 10th, the second on the13th. You see more detail on a partial moon. The closer you get to a full moon it's almost like shooting directly at the sun. This is the best shots that I have gotten so far.

You get more shadows on a partial moon than you do a full moon.
I like the first better for that reason.
