Excellent shots, Donna--great detail in the plumage. I don't think we have tri colors over here--at least I've never seen one.

I want to see one too and watch it catch its food, donna. from heron out i'm gonna
look for one...there must be a tri around here somewhere, or will i have
to drive all the way to alabama to find one? you got 2 excellent shots...he must have liked you!

I would say semi -breeding plumage - they do get much more colorful than this ! - GREAT portrait shots ! 8-) ......thanks for sharing
