My Corel VideoStudio X10 is working well for me--Windows 10. Do any Hoggers have a recommendation for a similar software package that is designed for Apple?

iMovie is quite good and it's packaged with all Apple products. It really depends how much your doing with your video.

I have heard good things about LumaFusion2.0, but have not tried it yet. I do less video, and more photo, work. I will soon be trying LumaFusion, but can't offer any details on it yet. Check it out,and let us know what you think of it.

Adobe Premiere Elements runs on both Apple and Windows. It is in the same price range as Corel Video Studio. There is a free trial and even after you buy it, there is a full refund if you don't like it.

I like Davinci Resolve 15. It’s free and works well on the Mac. It does however have a learning curve and may be overkill for what you are needing. It is a very powerful app and some would say on the level of Final Cut and Primere Pro but free.

iMovie is supplied free with every Mac sold. It is excellent. I’ve used it since 2000. Everything you learn about it can be used in Final Cut Pro X.

Final Cut Pro X is the best (fastest processing, most capable, most efficient) choice for most advanced video editing on Macs. I use it for most of my work now. It takes full advantage of all of Apple’s proprietary hardware, unlike the Adobe products. (Run Premiere on Windows instead, if that’s your choice.)

DaVinci Resolve is free, with in-app upgrades. It’s the best color grading tool for adjusting the look of video films.

Adobe Premiere is their high end editor. It is essentially the same as the Windows version, but is slower to use than Final Cut Pro X — unless you run Premiere in Windows X on comparable hardware. If you already know it, buy it to avoid learning a new app.

Adobe Premiere Elements is similar to iMovie in purpose, but you pay for it. If you already know it, buy it to avoid learning a new app. Your knowledge transfers well from Elements to full Premiere.

The very high end Avid suite runs on Macs, too, but I’m not familiar with it.

Since Corel VideoStudio X10 seems to have much of the look of iMovie from 10 - 15 years ago, I’d probably start with iMovie.
