I had to replace the sky. Guess I did a substandard job placing the sky layer with some lightning area which wasn't "overcooking", I don't think, but a natural lighter area.
The area slopes toward the right of the image, the river flows downgrade to the right along the cliffs. I'll straighten it and see how it looks.

I straightened the image, per your suggestion, using the buttes as the horizon. Not too good. The water from the river looks as if it's running uphill

That area is massive in scale and the color striations are marbleous........very dramatic and awesome.
