I found several more shells on the tree out back. I found a live cicada and I know they're there because the noise is deafening. However by the time I got back to the tree, the one in eye shot was gone. So I settled on a few shots of the shell.
This one I used my 90mm macro with 3 extension tubes for greater magnification.
Same setup minus the largest tube.
Nicely documented, right down to the dirt from its long life underground as a nymph.
