Not sure if this is the proper place to post this, but if not, please move it to the proper forum.

You may have noticed that Nikonian72 uses one of these with fabulous results.

I agree with every point made in this video. I purchased and modified my O-Flash strictly for macro-photography. I never considered it for portrait or umbrella illumination.

Here are two of my modifications using common elastic "ponytail" bands to keep the O-flash exactly where photographer wants it.

The first image shows black elastic bands holding O-Flash snugly against speedlight head.

The second image shows black elastic bands holding O-Flash ring perpendicular to macro lens.

The O-Flash is available in several "models" which are different lengths, needed because speedlight models differ in height. The proper model is selected by measuring vertically from center of macro lens to center of speedlight lens. My Nikon D5000/Nikon SB-600 combo dictates model F160, because it is 160-mm = 16-cm center-to-center, per 4th column of this chart.

I ordered an F175 which I should have in about a week or so. It's coming from California. I found it on Ebay. The guy selling it purchased it to do a write up on it and now has no use for it. So his loss is my gain. $20 + shipping. :D

And I'm glad to see you got an updated chart. The first one I saw showed the last column without any decimal points which made it look like 69" or 5'9" tall. :)

I bought the F160 for use with a Canon mid-size (350D, 500D chassis) and a Speedlight 550EX. I think the F165 or F170 would be a slightly better fit, but this works well.

I did Nikonian72's modification to it (using a smoothed out piece of aluminum foil), the increase in light output was impressive.

Can you possibly post a photo of your modification to it? I'd really like to get the most out of it. :)

Go to Nikonian72's flickr stream, you'll see what he did: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nikonian72/4509496996/in/set-72157623703013085

My only change was using aluminum foil (because I drew a blank on mylar sources) and covering up a bit more of the cardboard. I stole a glue stick from the kid's school bag to hold it in place.

Discarded bits & pieces of highly reflective silvered-mylar is easily found at a florist shop.
