On the rocks, do the geologists say those smooth contours are all formed by wind erosion? Or was water flow a factor before these lands were uplifted?

StanMac,
It depends some like in Zion are petrified deserts, others like arches occur from up lifting by volcanoes and tectonic plates and weathering by wind and water. Wind and water do the fine tuning I am betting on all land masses.
As an aside I've read that the Grand staircase which begins at Cedar Breaks which has the youngest rock at 35 million years and steps down in age to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. The oldest rocks in the staircase is the grand canyons floor's Vishnu Schist at well over a billion years old. I understand the staircase are the steps in geologic age as one goes from cedar breaks, thru other parks such as Canyonlands, Bryce, Zion. i'm no geologist so I'll stand corrected by someone who can put more flesh on my statement.
