Yes, it's disgusting, but it's hardly new. This goes back at least fifty years. I knew a manager of a supermarket who said that this was going on in his store by people of all ages. That's one reason why many foods have those "security" seals inside the cap.
People are horrible. Just look at the condition of the world. Virtually every problem we have was caused by people making decisions. The world is a mess on purpose.

It looks like EVERYTHING we buy should have a security seal of some type and if the seal is absent or broken, we will know enough not to buy it. It just adds to the cost
of our groceries. That just grosses me out when I see people take milk or juice out of the fridge and drink directly from the bottle and put it back. These people definitely

Jerry those security seals are there mainly because some people decided about 40-50 years ago to put poisons in some medication bottles. Then other people decided to tamper with other products. I am not saying your store owning friend was wrong. But I am saying there were people trying to literally poison others at the time. One of my convicts, a woman, had tampered with Pepsi products in Colorado. She served a number of years in a Colorado state prison for her tampering.

It grosses me out seeing family members, some adults, take a bottle of juice out of the refrigerator and take a drink before putting it back. Not polite at all to others.
