Thanks rosarioc I use a D500 and a 200-500 Nikkor also a D800 and a 24-70. Most shots were manual and some in P mode. The D509 does an excellent job in P mode. I used Auto ISO as well.

Did you see the eagles? Sometimes there are Sandhill cranes.

Well Jack you nailed that Eastern Pondhawk. I was really impressed with the rest of the images too. A marsh is my second home and you really did a brilliant job shooting it’s inhabitants. So well done my friend.

Saw the eagles. Bernie and I just missed a great eagle shot. As we were finishing the loop we saw one of the adults fly up to the nest and a couple standing right there said when they walked up there the eagle was right there standing on the edge of the pond. Just my luck... No Sandhills either.
