Thanks for the wonderful memories
Yes, it's nice to look back and remember, but there's no way I want to return to those times.

What you remember is the best experiences and the worst experiences. The humdrum average is not something memorable.
Fifty years from now it will probably be the same thing (for you younger whippersnappers).

I liked NYC a lot more in the 50's before it became today's Gated Community for Rich People. Even without bike paths you could ride a bike without being terrorized by aggressive, entitled drivers like the types who drive Escalades. I once rode a cruiser bike from the Upper West Side to Coney Island and back without incident. You could get to know the proprietors of small shops--the shoemaker, the tailor, the barber. Most of those shops are gone, can't afford the astronomical rents. My barber, who I found out had cut Adolf Eichmann's hair in Buenos Aires, bought, at my request, a pair of professional shears for me to trim my mustache. I still use them, 60 years later.
Very Well Done!!!!! Yes I remember it all !! Great Days!! Thanks for the link as I will be passing this along!
Great memories -- remembering all of it. Mahalo for sharing and I'll be sharing it with others.
