I was a little pissed when i shot a wedding this weekend and someone comes up to me and says they are buying my camera because it takes awesome pics. How come everyone thinks it is the camera and not the photographer? Oh well maybe it is just me i just felt insulted......

I get that too sometimes.
LMAO Love it!! I don't think just anyone can take great photos...I have a really long way to go and i have put alot of time and energy in learning.
You should have replied by saying. yes I know sometimes I don't even have to hold it to get great pic's. Most people have no idea of what goes into making great phots. Try not to let them bother you.
Among photographer friends, we give complements to each others' stoves.
Your stove looks pretty good i bet it takes great photos ;)
Just looked at your work....speachless awesome work
But my stove makes awesome coffee... Does yours
I also get that a lot and while on vacation this year visiting my daughter and her family she had made the same comment.I quotte her (dad your camera takes great pictures). The discussion followed afterwards.lol

I have only just started photography and I took some time in reading books, reading advice and comments on UHH, watching Youtube, etc, etc.
A neighbour asked me to take some pre wedding photos of her family all "dolled up" before going to the wedding. She remarked that my camera took great pictures and I replied yes it does BUT ............ then proceeded to tell her about aperture, f numbers, "bokah" (?), ISO, etc and after about 5 minutes saw a glaze form across her eyes and she then said "The camera and YOU take good photos, point taken"
Perhaps this is the way to inform,
     :D
Just tell them. Hell No! I take good pictures, the camera records them.

I always say " yes it does, but it is the person behind the camera that makes the difference"
You wanna try the cakes I get from my camera!
