Is anyone aware of mft lens equivalent to 28-600 full frame.
With 2x crop factor it would be 14-300 or thereabouts.
Looking for my Panasonic GX8.
Thanks ....

There is no such thing as a 28-600 full frame lens. There might be a bridge camera that has the "equivalent", but requires a small sensor and probably some computational lens processing. Doesn't the Sony RX 10 have something similar?

Panasonic makes a 14-140 that I enjoy. Along with the 100-400, you get a good range with only two lenses.

Next year, you will be able to go 24-1000 equivalent with just two lenses. The Olympus 12-200 f3.5/6.3 is available now. Next year the Olympus 150-400 f4.5 Pro IS will become available. It also has a built-in 1.25X teleconverter (188-500 or up to the equivalent of 1000 f5). With the new 2X teleconverter, one could stretch it to 1000 f10 (2000 f10 equivalent). Add in the 7-14 f2.8 Pro lens or 7-14 f4 Panasonic lens (smaller, lighter, cheaper, and almost as good as the Olympus), one could go 14 to 2000 equivalent with just three lenses and one teleconverter. If one only wanted Pro lenses, 7-14 f2.8, 12-40 f2.8, 40-150 f2.8, 150-400 f4.5, and the new 2X teleconverter. That would be somewhat costly (somewhere in the neighborhood of $10K), but the images would be sharp as all get out for the full 14 to 2000 equivalent range.

My Sony HX99V, that shoots Raw, also has a 24-720 mm ZEISS T* lens. And it will only set you back $450.00. I get beautiful, sharp 20X30 prints from it. You won't need anything else, TRUST ME.
TRY IT, YOU'LL LIKE IT.

I have an Olympus 75-300 (150-600 equivalent) that I love which would work well on your camera. And I think they're coming out with a pro model that's in a similar neighborhood, $$$$$.

Personally, I’d never buy a zoom with more than a 5:1 zoom range... I value sharpness at wide apertures.

Bill,

That chart is getting a little old. For example it doesn't include the "oh so fun" Lumix 100-400!

It’s the last zoom in the zoom list.

The list is from 08/2018. Yes, some really nice lenses have been released since, mostly at the very high end of the market.

Some of the Olympus Pro lenses are extremely sharp wide open and exceed that 5:1 requirement, but one usually has to open their wallets a lot wider to get them.

Good Good why would you want such as lens. Lenses with such a long range of Zoom are rarely good at anything.

Both Olympus and Panasonic make lenses that are the exceptions. I used the Olympus 12-100 f4 Pro IS (an 8.3:1 zoom) for a trip across Germany because of weight and size concerns. As a result of that rental, I am buying the 12-100 f4 before the 300 f4 Pro IS or the 150-400 f4.5 Pro IS since it will be much more used and versatile lense. If you would like to see just how good a lens can be wide open, go to Image Resource's web page and read the reviews on both the 12-100 f4 and the 300 f4. They see lenses everyday and they find these two very impressive even wide open. There is no reason to believe that the 150-400 f4.5 Pro IS, one of their 100th anniversary lenses, will be any less impressive than those two. I am already starting to save my money for it.
