Nice! Been thinking about one of those or a new D 7200 before they are gone. The touch screen may be the deal breaker - I really dislike the dam' things.

Super sharp on the flower. Did you use live view for focus?

Thanks. You can download it and enlarge as many times as you want and it stays sharp. I think it's a combination of the great lens and the GREAT camera.

I have a D7100 and I like it. But no comparison with the D500. It feels great in my hands. Super fast and accurate focusing. Weather sealed. I'm not a big fan of touch screens either but I'm learning to like it. And just because it's there doesn't mean you have to use it. And the 10 fps burst capability with a big buffer for BIF is incredible. That's what made me want it. If it was a choice between the D7100 and the D500 there would be no choice. Can't speak to the D7200. Download the flower photo and enlarge several times and you will see how sharp it is despite "only" 20 MP.

Nope just auto focus through the view finder. Hand held. Thanks.

Thanks, Frank. I hope you're right, I'm looking forward to running it through it's paces once I'm back on two feet.
I've got an appointment with the Doc in a few days. He'll take a second look and decide if the stiches can come out. Fingers crossed.

Nice shot and with the flower flat to the lens you have the whole flower in focus. Thanks for not over sharpening your image, the edges look good.
