An odd looking flower? Does anyone know what it is?
Could be snapdragons, antirrhinum majus or related.

looks like a Snapdragon to me.
Snapdragons! I wouldn't have guessed that one.
This site is a wealth of knowledge on flowers. They were a odd looking bunch of flowers and the home owner couldn't remember what they were either. Thanks to all.
If you squeeze the flower with thumb and forefinger you can make the mouth of the dragon snap open and closed. Inquiring minds....
They are a short lived perennial but most people treat them as annuals.
They are such a beautiful creamy shade of yellow. They would also make a neat close up I think!

Nice shots, Keith. Grab a bloom and rub it between your fingers then smell it. It should smell like bubble gum.
I'm very impressed in what you had to say, in that if one were to rub this particular flower in between their thumb and fingers, it certainly has an aroma to that of bubble gum!
Don't ask me which type of gum, as there are so many on the market nowadays!
My dear old Mum had a garden on our farm, which was situated in the Drakensberg in South Africa.
