What's the best way to deliver images from a portrait or headshot photoshoot?

I've been using the Canon Gateway for family and friends to do this, but what are some of the processes that today's customers desire or expect: Squarespace, Wix, Dropbox, Google Drive, thumb drive or something else? TIA.

I use a ThumbDrive with low res images for paying customers. Email for family and friends.

It depends on the deal you have with them ..If its choose for a print then Zenfolio or similar so in fact they have nothing but if you are giving them the images at some stage of your sales pitch then a USB stick or SD card is simplest to post. What I am saying its all about safeguarding your profit.
Remember if sending them the images to ensure you put in your contract that they are responsible for archiving the images .

To mention 'customers' implies that you are running a photographic business ?

I send photos to models from time to time. I don't do photography professionally but often, models who I have photographed, want their photos. I use Dropbox. I have also burned the images to M-Discs. The M-Disc is the most stable DVD. It uses a mineral based layer instead of dyes. The data gets etched into the mineral based layer. You have to check if your DVD burner can do M-Discs.

It depends on the recipient and number of images?
I recently scanned 75 old family photos and made them available to family (all over the country) via OneDrive. They can pull them if they want. Saves mailing a bunch of CDs.
(Emails are usually limited to 20 Meg total message size.)

Really just depends on how they want them, just ask them. Most of my customers like to go through my Zenfolio page so they can buy prints etc.. (I found Zenfolio to be much easier than wix and smugmug.) but sometimes they just want a thumb/jump drive ( you can buy those in bulk cheap on Amazon) And sometimes they want the pictures texted to them so they can go straight to social media. So create a price list for each situation and just open up the lines of communication.

I use a thumbdrive. Put all the digital photos on it and hand deliver. If they are a paying customer, give them an invoice at that time.

I would give the customer a choice. If download, I'd use Dropbox. Easy peasy..
