Really nice shots. Amazed at the dust, surprised the umpires can see to make calls on slides like this one. My only comment would be maybe to up your ISO to (320-400). Post more these are excellent. Thanks
Tom
Well done!
Where is the umpire?

Heck of a sequence, with all that dust was she out or safe. Umpire positioning??
Looks pretty dry in them there parts.
She was safe. The umpire and the ball are out of frame to the right. Tom why do you want the ISO pumped up ?. Thanks to all that have looked and commented.

Hi. I personally think they were a little underexposed. I like a little more saturation and color. My thought was to increase the ISO to keep shutter speed at 1/2500. Let me know your thoughts. I am still amazed at the dust cloud, don't know that I have ever seen a field like that before. Keep up the good work and post more. Thanks
Tom
Awesome timelapse... love it! Yep, girls will be girls... lol
The good news is that with soft loose surfaces the risk of serious injury is greatly reduced for those who choose to "slide" into base (or home plate).
Played tennis throughout HS and College.... clay courts (HarTru) were my fav since you could run at speed to make the shot and easily slide to decelerate... Hard paved surfaces are brutal on joints, tendons and ligaments... not fun... btw, the French Open is always amazing and always on soft clay...
Thanks for sharing your "decisive moments" here Nikon2014...
So compelling.... so surreal...
