I saw Brian Flaherty's post on this today (part of his post is below) and wanted to celebrate this another way. Read below and go to the link. Hopefully, you will find is as inspiring as I did.

In a few days, it will be the 50th anniversary of Neil Armstrong's landing on the moon; and, taking two of the most famous steps in History. We all know the words he spoke out loud. . .But, few know the words he said more quietly, almost to himself. . .
********** VERY IMPORTANT, HOGGERS *************
NASA commissioned Judy Gale Roberts to create an Intarsia picture to commemorate this 50th anniversary event. This will be on display in the museum at the Kennedy Space center. Read on.
Intarsia is a process of taking pieces of wood of different colors and cutting and shaping them in such a way that when put together, it creates a 3D picture. While not a photograph, as that is what this forum is about, when you see this absolute masterpiece, you will feel that is primarily is a photograph. As a professional woodworker, I, too, have created some original intarsia pieces. But the focus is not on me, but on this magnificently talented artist and the work she produced.
Only yesterday a video about this 50th anniversary creation was released for public viewing. A scroll saw friend, Steve Good, was permitted to film the process (and narrate it) and the presentation and the link is below. Oh, one more thing to peak your interest. Some of the wood from which this image was created is "from the moon." ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
