I usually take photos in natural light. On occasion flash is required. All flash photos with the Metz are completely a "White out". I need to know how to synchronize the flash to the camera?
I have an old Metz 60-CT4 but I think if you have the correct module for the Canon 5D-MkII and use flash exposure lock you should get a properly exposed picture. It seems to me that the flash is not sinced with the camera settings. The settings in the camera have to tell the flash how much light to use as fill flash.
Thank you for your reply. Although I am experienced in color, composition etc. ..having a Masters in Fine Arts ,I sometimes have difficulty with technical matters . I will check this out with my Camera store where there are a couple of sales persons who are very knowledgeable with such matters. I started photography seriously while on tour in VietNam 1966-1968. Shooting without a flash is obvious. I prefer not to use one but on occasion it is a must.
