Animals are one of my favorite subjects, I'd like to see what you have, too!

I had to say goodbye to my cat of 12 years on June 23. I adopted a new cat from the animal shelter on June 25. Apparently I now have the only cat in the world which is not interested in boxes. I have tried big ones, small ones, tall ones, short ones, thin ones, wide ones, new ones, old ones. This is what she likes.

Hey y'all, it feels like way too long since I've been able to check it! Lots of folks filtering through the beach house so no time to even take pictures let alone pp and post. Looks like I've missed a lot!
Love this challenge Karin, thanks for hosting and a great start as well. I enjoy all your captures from the zoo animals!
I'm happy to report we have another new pony born a week ago Friday, it's a colt finally and he's gorgeous. His mama, Ms. Macky, has been way out in the marsh so I haven't gotten a good shot of him yet, my 70-300 with a converter just doesn't do the trick. Here are a few of my favorite subject, the wild ponies of Assateague.
This is Yankee, he has quite a band of mares. One was making a break due to other bands being in the area and he was "snaking" her back while causing quite the traffic jam

Thanks , Matt, I think so, too!
You give me a chance to show a couple of images from my new kit - Lumix G9 with 100-300 G VARIO 1:4.0-5.6. I have not been very venturesome yet, but here are a couple from our yard. The camera was left in auto mode and the images were shot at 300mm, hand-held with JPG output.
Remember G9 is an MFT camera, so the lens is 200-600 in 35mm equivalent. Both lens and body have active and stabilisation which is integrated for double effect. The resulting images' meta data show f5.6, ISO 3200; shutter speed for the chair image was 1/250, and for the other 1/160. Distance to subject was a mere 25 feet or so in each case.
My eyesight is no longer acute and I rely on auto focus. These look less sharp than I'd like - do you think the lens or my sight is at fault? Or perhaps there is some shake?
I show the original OOC image with a lightly PP'd crop of about.

Judging by your pictures in various threads, Cleveland zoo looks like it has quite a rich collection

Can't think of a better reason for a traffic jam!
