The backyard bandits are plentiful now that the bird feeders are up. These little thieves aren't easily frightened away. When they see you, they hide, ready to come out again as soon as you've gone inside the house.

We had a family that would visit us every night at home on our deck on Mercer Is, WA. I loved to watch them.

Hi Vonzip,
They can be annoying but I can't help admiring their ingenuity. They do make me laugh.

Nice photo. I had one as a pet when I was a kid. I found him on a log floating down a river that I was canoeing and rescued him. He was young enough that he was still drinking milk. He was pretty mischievious growing up but one of the coolest pets I ever had.

and he's a full grown one too....with lots of teeth...stay clear as he may be rabid cause they're not supposed to be out in daylight and although he looks okay , may in fat , not be so.

He's a city raccoon - they're very common in Toronto and have learned to live freely in people's yards, under decks etc.
