I mistakenly hit restore to default and now photos from camera don't show filename, only date and time. How do I restore that?

Thanks, Don

You just deleted your info from the camera, just re-enter and everything should be back to normal!

Ah, can't help you there.
Was it in a catalog(er)? I don't use them so I never saw an option like that in 14 or 2019.
Hopefully SPeters knew what you were talking about.

I am talking about when getting pics from my camera into PSE12 organizer, there is no filename with the thumbnails. This is after choosing "restore default". Thumbnails and (as I found later) all my photos in the catalog have no filename. The metadata information is there, but does NOT show up with each thumbnail. Only date and time. Couldn't find anything in preferences for Catalog.

Did you search PSE's Help Menu for a solution? That's always the first place I look when I need to configure some aspect of a software's behavior.

Do you have Adobe Bridge? It's an easy fix using Tools>Batch rename. Just change the field to extension and type .jpg. Look at the bottom of the page to see that it falls at the end. Worse comes to worse, you can do it manually and use copy>paste so you don't have to retype it.

Do not do this. The file name is intact, only the view setting in the software needs changed.
