Nice photos. I use to own a 1963 Crown Imperial. What a boat that car was. There were few factory stock cars larger than those grand old imperial's.

Thank yopu very much, rmorrison; I appreciate it. I always love the boat analogy.

I had a 53 for a few years when I lived in Chicago. It started and ran like a top, except it would not start when the temp was under 5d. F. But I loved that car...

The 54 Chevy's engine had improved rod and main bearings and the displacement was upped to 235 cu in from 216 (I think those are the correct numbers).

Very good set, Rob, I had a 54 Chevy 4 door, built like a tank and I drove it like a tank, it never broke.

While your description of the '54 Chevy is generally accurate, actually there was a major difference to the grille, with the '54 adding 2 extra bars to the '53's 3 bars. There were other minor changes as well.
A '54 Chevy was my second car at age 16, replacing my '41 Chevy convertible.

Didn't the 53 chevy have a split windshield also?
