Pretty good activity this year! By 9am or so, many of the popular destinations are filling up the parking lots. We spend a lot of time in Lamar and Swan Lake Flats areas and even that is getting crazy and that includes some of the hiking trails. Popular venues seem to be best before 9am and after 5pm. Lots of commercial guides that frequently tie up the pull-outs, to say nothing about the yellow tour cars or Yellowstone Forever vans.

Thank you Terry! We got shots of another in a different area which is unusual for us.

Terrific set, David, all interesting subjects...looks like the Peregrine was a long ways off. We don't see many posts here on the birds of Yellowstone so these are a treat!!

It looked like a big ant the Downy Woodpecker was feeding three young in the hole. The Falcon was too far off to tell. It was taken with a 600mm F4 with a 2X on a crop sensor.

Was hoping you'd make it! Got some Mountain Goats on Barronette and Sepulcher...lol, you can actually tell what they are. Badgers near Petrified Tree turn-off. RRS left yesterday.

Nice shots. Love the GHO's! I found a nest a couple years ago. Had a blast watching them grow and branch hop. I actually missed the final fledge, which was a bad ending but fun while it lasted! Gary

We've been enjoying our stay as usual. Grandkids started arriving today and different ones in a week. Great to be able to share this place. No, we're not baby sitting!

We've had rain or snow of some kind for the past ten days, but not a problem. Hailing right now!
