Need Help in cutting the Adobe Software Cord
Adobe premiere and the entire creative suite is now unaffordable. They want money for this and money for that ...
I need an alternative PC video editing creative suite. I’m not going to use it everyday. I’m just going to create a Vlog
While still trying to learn the basics with subtitles, editing ,color balancing, Jack-of-all-trades-but-a-master- of-none-film-maker.

Or if your film editor ,do you or know of someone that can deliver editing services via internet and converse via phone while still maintaining my copyrights to my projects ? Yes,I will pay for their editing services . No,I won’t bug them for fast over. Quality editing is more important while having fun with my projects. Yes, I can take criticism for improving the projects. Very serious about moving forward with my filming projects so please reach out to me if have constructive advise . mrjpaape@yahoo.com

PC or Mac?

Never mind, just re-read and you're using a PC.

There is a very good middle ground alternative: Adobe Photoshop Elements and (for video makers) Premier Elements. This one-time purchase standalone software package is available for $149.99 or if you qualify as an upgrade for $119.99. Elements is full featured and has been quite popular with UHH members.

If you have been renting the entire creative suite and not using After Effects, Audition, Rush, Media Encoder, etc, you have been wasting your money.

You can buy Premiere Elements by itself for about $100. Unique is that it has Quick, Guided and Expert modes. It is full of video and audio tools. I've used it for several years and you can link on some of the results in my signature. Premiere Elements is so common, the learning resources are abundant.

Tell me what you want to be able to do and I can probably tell you if you can and how.

Other common and competitive editors are Cyberlink PowerDirector and the products from Magix.

I just watched a new video from J Cristina where he rates the top 5 PhotoShop replacements. He rated Affinity #1 and Corel PSP #2 (only for being Windows only). He claims that for his research to find replacements for all Adobe products he has canceled and removed all Adobe software from his computers.

If you don't rush in the first day of release, PSP can usually be had for $69. Once you own it, and if you reject the first few upgrade offers, the upgrades can be had for $25, via a pop up ad you will get from Corel. He states it can do everything PhotoShop can do.

J Cristina has twenty one thousand subscribers, needs to shave, wears a necklace and doesn't button his shirt. He is probably spot on!

Use both of them myself. PSP has an affordable package. I upgrade every 2 or 3 years making it way cheaper than Adobe and their monthly fees.

I use Cyberlink PhotoDirector. The online help is pretty useless but YouTube has a lot of videos on how to use it. After a few hours, you get the hang of it. I used the PhotoElements video editor for a bit. Its similar to PhotoDirector but nowhere near as easy or powerful.

My two cents:

I use Corel PaintShop Pro for photos, along with all the additional Corel photo-related software, such as AfterShot. I find it more user-friendly than Photoshop Elements and has most, if not all, useful features of regular Photoshop.

I use Corel Pinnacle Studio for my video editing needs. The latest version has a lot of pro features, but the rendering engine isn't as robust as Avid Media Composer. However, it's way cheaper than Avid MC, which I owned until it got too expensive.

Both of these software packages are attractively priced, especially when they are on sale.

On 1 is faster and easier to use. AI is used in masking making it a 2 stroke to change background. Layers has always been easier than PS. Check it out. Now on sale $49.00 www.on1.com

I’ve been using LR for many years . I’ve tried others , ON1 but it is not the same to me. I use almost all LR features along with PS. I’m very very comfortable with it and Photo Shop. All of you who have been using it for years and and are going to change let me know how unhappy you are after you change .

There is a very effective alternative to Premiere and Audition for video editing and they are both free. Download the free version of Blackmagic Resolve for video and Audacity for audio. Resolve has a better work flow than Premiere and does most things better. The only thing I need to use my creative cloud account for when editing videos is Encore for making DVDs and Blu-rays.

I have a Creative Cloud subscription, but I still do most of my video and audio editing in these two programs. Our church volunteers also mostly use Resolve and Audacity. We are able to edit our videos faster and with a whole lot less cost than multiple CC subscriptions.

make sure to get the optional plug-ins, especially the Lame MP3 encoder, and FFMpeg:
