OMG!!!! Chief, you're full of surprises!!!! Now I'm torn ... I thought # 2 was awesome ... but so is # 3 ... I couldn't choose between those shots. I'm curious, where were they taken & how close were you? Were you stalking them? Or were you in a blind? Or just luck? Those are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks. I was sort of stalking him with some luck thrown in.. I spent a couple months at the RV park at Vandenberg AFB trying to get some photos of some rocket launches. It's pretty wildlife rich with lots of coyotes, hawks, ground squirrels and gophers which are the prey base for all the predators, herons, deer etc. I've stayed there several times but this was the first time I saw bobcats.
I was about 30+/- yards from this bobcat and was lucky to get several shots before he decided he didn't want to be a model anymore. I was using what was then a brand new 200 to 500mm Nikon zoom with a brand new D7100. If you download that last photo and enlarge once or twice you can see that he was marking his territory just before he made his exit stage right. Sorta like giving me the finger for disturbing his hunt before he disappeared.
I'm glad you liked them.

Yup ... liked the shots but liked the story just as much ... I thought the 3rd cat was standing strangely ... & you're right ... it was spraying. Hell of a story, that one. And love the fact he was "flipping you off." Makes a great capture ... an exquisite one. Thanks for sharing.

My pleasure. I'm glad you liked them.
PS Like your new Avatar ... I think longhorns are wonderful to look at. Best to you & hope you are healing.

Thank you, Frank. One day at a time

Nice shot Chief!
Thanks very much, Victor. I appreciate it.
All 3 shots are very impressive. I've spent many hours stomping around the woods of Oklahoma and I've seen bobcats before but never like these shots. My fondest memory was watching a momma cat and 3 kittens cross my path...with no camera. You should be very proud of these.

Thank you very much, CaptKK. I am proud of them but a lot of it was luck, I keep reminding myself of that so my big head can make it through the doorway.
I'm glad you liked them. Never saw any kittens, that must have been a thrill.
Greats catches Chief. I like the second one the best. He has such a pretty face.
