Canon 7D RAW files

Does anybody know if CS5 allows you to open raw files from the 7D? Right now I have CS3 and have to convert them with Digital Photo Professional first. I don't have LR either.

It should. Adobe added support for the 7D with Camera Raw 5.6 update for PS CS4 and Photoshop Elements 8.

I just went through this, or maybe I should say, am going through it. The latest CR update I can find for CS3 is 4.6 and it does not read the raw files from my 7d. The CS3 is on my old back up laptop but I needed to use it to preview some files and discovered this issue.

Here is a workaround -- Convert the 7D's native raw files to .dng files using Adobe's free DNG Converter. I believe you will then be able to open the .dng files in ACR 4.6 in PS CS3. You can get the DNG Converter version that supports your camera here.

Z...I upgraded to CS5 and looking forward to trying it with my RAW files, among other things...:-)
