ON1 Raw Help

I have a question about using the Edit module in ON1. I've reviewed the User Manual and reviewed videos about this but have not found an answer.

Is there a way to move slider markers to the right or left without grabbing it with the mouse and pulling it one direction or the other? I've used other software which allows adjusting sliders by moving the wheel on the mouse, using the arrow keys on the keyboard, or clicking to the right or left so that it moves in small increments. I find the mouse grab method to be less precise than the other methods provide. If anyone has another method of doing this, I would appreciate your input.

No.

It is an often requested feature, but so far On1 has not responded with an implementation.

Thank you, both of you for your responses. I thought maybe i was missing the technique, but this confirms my thinking. I will also suggest this improvement to ON1.

Well, as I mentioned, I decided to submit a suggestion to ON1 to improve the methods of moving the sliders in the Edit Module. I did that and then reviewed other suggestions that have been submitted. I found one suggestion that recommended improvements in this area, but it also mentioned that the slider could be moved by clicking in the value field of the slider and hitting the up or down arrow. This method enables the setting to move in increments of "1" depending upon the slider. The suggestion was to have the slider move in increments of greater than ".1" when setting the exposure, which also seems to me to be a worthy suggestion.

Anyhow, I found this method of adjusting the sliders. Wish the method was more similar to other software, or was to use the left and right arrow keys instead of the up and own keys, but at least it works. Just wanted to share this with you.

You can click on the right bar where the numbers are and enter a number than hit enter key. For Full stops enter single number, for fractions enter two numbers. If you wanted to raise exposure by 1/3 of a stop you would enter 33, for a full stop enter 1. I've gone to a high gloss pad for my mouse, it seems to react faster and a little more precise if that helps..

Thank you Martinfisher. Yes, I noticed this method before, but found it to be cumbersome, requiring a click in the number field, going to the numbers on the keyboard, and having to change them to trying different settings. I will probably use the up and down arrow keys as noted in my previous comment, but thanks for your comment.

On a PC when you explicitly click the data entry box to the right of the sliders you can use your keyboard's up and down arrows to increase and decrease the values and move the sliders more precisely than when dragging with a mouse .
