This is not a composite. If you are in exactly the right spot with a long lens, you can get some interesting perspectives. Ellis Island (foreground) is not Where Miss Liberty lives. She is actually on another island which is completely obscured by the foreground. Because the Statue is on a rather tall pedestal, it looks like she is on Ellis Island. All comments are always welcome. Shot with a 300mm prime.

I really like this Erich. Three wildly conflicting object nicely captured in one image. Great that you have obviously thought/planned/considered the subject material here and produced your own conceived conclusion. Great concept.

Hey, you're messing with our minds . Good demonstration of the compression effect.

A telling photo, grounding the idea of liberty in reality.

When I saw those three things line up in the distance, I knew that it was time to switch to a long lens. I think the foreshortening is what really enhances the concept. Shot with a nifty fifty, as great as they are, this would have been "ho-hum" at best.

Love this shot Erich. as I am inclined to do, I experimented with various b/w conversions. I suppose you will also.
